The school account, Thursday morning, August 27. This is the mailbox a college program would write to. It is reproduced here in full — every message received since June 1, nothing omitted — because what is in it is the entire argument of this save.
Six messages. Two of them are from a restaurant and a portrait photographer. Two of them are the two coaches who wrote back, and both of those came from mail he sent first. One is a robot. One is a notification that somebody, somewhere, watched forty-one seconds of a football game and did not say who they were.

Forty-one seconds. The first drive is ninety-four seconds long. Whoever it was did not finish the first drive.
He made those three folders on July 1, the day after he sent the first email. They have never held anything. He has not deleted them.
Nine more like these. Every single one of them found him. Not one college found him. The only industry that has correctly identified a seventeen-year-old quarterback in Fenton, Michigan with no offers and no exposure is the one that sells the promise of exposure to seventeen-year-old quarterbacks with no offers.
